Prof. Gilberto Sammartino is Full Professor of Oral Surgery at the University of Naples Federico II, where he works in the Department of Neuroscience, Reproductive Science and Dentistry and heads the dental school.
His research focuses on implantology, regenerative dentistry and tissue engineering. He is particularly known for his work on platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), including the widely cited systematic review "Use of platelet-rich fibrin in regenerative dentistry" in Clinical Oral Investigations. He also leads clinical trials at his university.
